Some Essential Job Functions that may be required:

• Installs, alters, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring systems and equipment, both high and low voltage (i.e., wall electrical outlets, traffic signal systems, air distribution systems, pumps, transformers, motors, streetlights, and appliances);
• Maintains and repairs equipment used in 24-hour operations;
• Performs as a crew leader and ensures timely job progress by assigning work of available personnel on the job site and scheduling equipment use;
• Provides on-the-job training for junior or subordinate crew members in skills of the electrical trade, and requirements of specific job tasks;
• Responds to customer inquiries or complaints;
• Acts as a "standby" electrician for responding to emergency calls after normal working hours.
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

Job Description

Electricians install, maintain and test electrical systems, equipment and appliances under stringent safety regulations.

An "electrician" can be associated with a variety of different jobs and the nature of their work largely depends on their specialist training and experience.

• in-service inspection and testing of portable appliances
• fire, safety and security systems, including CCTV

Responsibilities:

• working from technical plans and drawings in the installation of lighting, sockets and switches and in the maintenance of electrical appliances
• ensuring the safe use of electrical installations through periodic testing in accordance with health and safety regulations
• identifying faults and administering repairs to faulty electrical equipment
